This float shut-off ball is an integral part of the recovery system on the Trusted Clean 'Quench' wet/dry vacuum. It connects to the seal plate via a pole assembly. As the recovery tank fills, the float ball assembly raises and pushes the seal plate up to complete seal off the vac motor once the tank is full. This prevents any liquid or from from passing through the vac motor, which would effectively void your warranty.
This float ball is an integral part to the operation of the 'Quench' vac. Please make sure it is free moving before using your machine each time. The o-ring that fits between the float ball and the float pole assembly should also be inspected when looking at the float assembly. You'll want to make sure it does not have any cracks, as this could lead to water leaking into the float ball, causing the vac motor to fail.
